Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
1. What are the credentials and qualifications of your counselors?
Ivy Compass counselors are professionals with years of experience in Ivy League and other highly selective admissions offices. We have evaluated applications and served on admissions committees at the most competitive schools in the United States. In addition, we have advised both secondary and college students.
2. How is Ivy Compass different from other counseling services?
We are a group of colleagues committed to providing professional admissions advice to students across the globe who wish to attend U.S. colleges and universities. We offer free advice at our blog and provide individual counseling to students for a fee.
3. Does Ivy Compass guarantee admission to an Ivy League college?
Not even the admissions officer reading your application can guarantee your admission to a particular school. The admissions process at top U.S. colleges and universities includes a review of your application in the context of a larger pool of applicants and your admissions decision is rendered by committee.
Ivy Compass does guarantee a careful review of your credentials followed by professional feedback on your strengths and weaknesses as a prospective applicant. Using our collective experience as admissions professionals from top colleges and universities, we are poised to offer useful advice. We understand from first-hand experience what constitutes a competitive application to top schools.
4. Do I have to apply to "Ivy League" colleges to work with Ivy Compass?
Absolutely not. While our admissions experience comes mostly from Ivy League and elite institutions, we have counseled students aspiring to attend many different schools across the U.S. We are committed to helping you find and apply to colleges that are the best fit for you.
5. How will I contact my Ivy Compass counselor?
All counseling sessions will occur in person or via web conference or phone. Students may also contact their counselors by email.
6. What if my parents want to talk to my Ivy Compass counselor?
The admissions process should be a student-centered process with parents and counselors serving in a supporting role. Communication among students, parents and our counselors is important, however. Parents are likely to have questions and concerns that need to be addressed and we encourage them to contact us.
7. What is your refund policy?
We are committed to delivering the highest quality counseling experience possible. If clients are for any reason dissatisfied with our service, they may take advantage of our 30 day refund policy and request a refund of the entire package fee, less any expenses incurred at the time of cancellation.
